I’m about 50 years old. Over the years, I’ve earned a long and cherished home range. During my musth period, I visit Udawalawe National Park, but most of the time I stay within the Dahaiyagala Sanctuary, which is my home....

What I cannot understand is why someone built a motorway right through our sanctuary—and then complains that we are disturbing people. From where I stand, it feels the opposite. People honk, race their noisy engines, and sometimes even hit us with their vehicles as they rush through our home...

You need to reduce the speed limit while driving across our homeland...traffic speed cameras would be a good solution as we cross the road at night...

Our feet have always stayed on the ground. You humans are the ones who fly and build things in the sky. So why can’t you build a flyover across the sanctuary and let us live peacefully in the land we have walked for generations? You could develop the flyover as a tourist attraction and earn some money!
